A 25-minute narrative dramedy, Debsy and Her Family is about Debsy's experience with her dysfunctional family as she gets involved with a psychotherapy cult.
All About the Project
Debsy, 18, is a Harvard-bound high school senior with a very dysfunctional family. Confused by her parents behavior and searching for answers, Debsy begins to attend a psychotherapy cult, which bills itself as a "transformational workshop". As she becomes more involved with the cult, Debsy's family situation worsens. When Debsy decides to leave to become a "trainer" at the cult's headquarters in California, her family must unite in order to stop her.
